It shows the artist’s innermost nature to his audience. Art is inevitably a reflection of the personality of the creator and the performer, his or her deepest self is revealed. And so it should be; when this happens, the scenic act becomes truth, and a direct communication with the audience takes place, which discovers unique and vital voices, perhaps whispered or veiled.
Anabel Veloso works under this premise, also searching for the difficult balance between tradition and the era to which she belongs and which defines her way of arriving at flamenco.

The voices of Miguel Soto ‘El Londro’ and Juan de Mairena, the guitar of Javier Patino and the winds of Diego Villegas are joined by the sound of one of the instruments with which the bailaora most identifies: the Flamenco Piano. Aesthetic, Elegant, Versatile?

And who better to bring it to life than perhaps the greatest representative of contemporary flamenco piano, David Peña DORANTES, ‘the jewel of flamenco piano’ who combines ‘classical virtuosity and jondo lineage’ like no one else.

Anabel Veloso also rescues an original composition by one of the highest representatives of the canonical generation of flamenco piano in history: JOSÉ ROMERO. Concert pianist, composer, researcher. After his loss, he left an unpublished work for orchestra, which he kept as a secret, perhaps because he lived in an internal struggle in the search for a personal style, but under the weight of the most purist tradition. His work is now shared with the general public and can be heard in the hands of the soloists of the ORQUESTA BÉTICA DE CÁMARA and conducted by MICHAEL THOMAS, as a small tribute to this great promoter of flamenco piano.
